The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 states all employers must appoint at least one ‘Health & Safety Competent Person’, a person who has the appropriate knowledge and expertise to assist a business or organisation in achieving compliance with Health and Safety and Fire Safety legal requirements.
